First Year Milestones (1-12 months)

​Just a few milestones in Henson's first year that I was able to record:

1 Month (1-4 weeks)
- sleeps in the car seat
- weighs 10.5 lbs (gained 2.3 lbs since birth)
- grew about 2 inches since birth
- he often smiles in his sleep
- scratches himself on the face
- he turns so red when he cries
- he loves being carried
- has cradle cap
- has facial acne
- uses his tongue as a pacifier
- will rarely take a pacifier
2 Months (5-8 weeks)
- started smiling at 6 weeks
- started cooing
- weighs 12.9 lbs
- he enjoys bath time
- sleeps in the bouncer
- got his first cold at 6 weeks
- would wake up in the middle of the night and stay up for 30 min to an hour
- loves being swaddled
- started using cloth diapers

3 Months (9-12 weeks)
- weighs 16.3 lbs and 25 inches long
- started swatting at mobiles a little bit
- stares at faces
- starts feeling objects waved in front of him
- swats and looks at objects shown to him
- starts to laugh a little
- can watch shows on tv
- laughs are more distinct
- loves to sleep on mama's chest
- giggles when bounced
- smiles even more now
- super fussy when tired
- more fluid movement of neck when looking around
- tolerates tummy time a little longer
- drinks 5-6 oz per feeding
- starts to look at own hands

4 Months (13-17 weeks)
- looks at own hands often
- falls asleep to loud trap music
- can push himself up slightly during tummy time
- giggles when interested
- brings hands together and sucks on knuckles
- bats lightly at rattle
- pushes away bottle forcefully when full
- transition to medium flow nipple (no. 2)
- Yzerman pic calms him down
- likes orange/red things
- pushes up to stand from sitting position with the help of mama's hands
- cried "mamama" once (Feb 16)
- giggles when tickled
- moves forcefully and jumps when on feet (assisted)
- fights bottle sometimes
- follows mom and dad around the room with his eyes
- smiles more often
- uses different types of whine when fussy
- always has hands clamped together and looks at them often
- fights and escapes the swaddle
- started on the jumperoo
- has firmer grasps
- always scratches mama
- wants to be held all the time and loves being moved around
- really messy and runny poops
- rolls over in the white swing
- distinct whiny sounds
- first real continuous laugh
- learning pincer grip
- more talkative and coos more often
- gets fussy when bored
- start transition to swaddling with one hand loose
- sticks tongue out and plays with tongue a lot
- starts to roll sideways (halfway)
- blows raspberry kisses with tongue
- starts to grab stuffed toys
- starts to open mouth a little when he sees bottle close to his face
- drools a lot
- grabs mommy's hair

5 Months (18-21 weeks)
- looks at reflection on mirror
- grabs objects in front of him
- grabs faces
- first time rolling from front to back (March 18, 2016)
- does not want to sit in front of the computer too long
- is more talkative
- makes fart noises and saliva bubbles with his mouth
- smacks lips and sucks tongue
- drools a lot
- coos when he wakes up in the middle of the night
- tries to get up from inclined sitting position
- grabs mommy's leg
- reaches out to touch cat
- pulls shirt up
- likes the Disney song "Part Of Your World"
- rolled from tummy to back (March 28)
- makes little squeals when impatient
- moves both arms up and down and thumps belly
- stares intently at faces
- first time at No Frills
- looks up when he hears someone talking
- looks up at mama and just stares
- arches back while in the tub (wants to sit)
- starts doing mini situps
- loves stroller rides
- sticks tongue out fully
- grabs toys during tummy time
- first time to roll from back to tummy (April 5)
- transition to sleeping in his crib (April 5)
- falls asleep on his side
- very active
- learns how to jump while in jumperoo
- sits up assisted during bath time in tub
- starts to grab stuff and puts them in his mouth

6 Months (22-25 weeks)
- weighs 20.6 lbs and 26 inches tall
- starts to touch feet when seated
- starts to roll from back to tummy and back
- plays with rattling toys
- says dadada
- prefers side sleeping
- first time to sit unassisted (April 14)
- first tooth broke out (April 18)
- sits up unassisted for longer periods of time
- tries to eat toes while sitting
- picks up pacifier and puts it in his mouth
- tried slumber sleeper and didn't like it
- lifts butt up and kicks legs while on tummy trying to crawl
- moves all over crib and bumps head on the railing
- always want to be held
- doesn't want to be seated at the tub anymore
- arches his back a lot
- fights his naps
- tries to drink from a cup
- reaches out with both arms
- starts using teether
- keeps rolling and waking up in his sleep
- starts to show affection
- plays independently in his crib for longer periods of time
- says "bababa"
- grabs own bottle and holds it himself
- picks up objects and examines them
- plays by himself in playpen
- tried spoon feeding with milk
- screams and squeals
- struggles and rolls during diaper changes
- first taste of puree (May 7)

7 Months (26-30 weeks)
- weighs 20.9 lbs and 27 inches long
- second tooth broke out (May 8)
- learns how to balance himself on his hands and knees
- first time eating PC Organics Rice Rusks (May 12)
- first taste of carrots (May 13)
- rocks himself while on all fours
- first taste of peas (May 16)
- grabs stuff while sitting in tub (took partition off)
- grabs food from table
- rests feet on crib railing when sleeping
- laughs when we squirt water during bath time
- stays in jumperoo longer
- attemps to get into sitting position from all fours
- pushes off when being carried
- can push all the way up with arms and legs
- scoots and crawls backwards
- grunts loudly
- nibbles on feet and always touches them
- introduced to pears and bananas
- loves bananas
- first time stand barefoot on grass
- bites crib railing
- tries to pull himself up from sitting by holding on to crib railing
- first time to pull himself up on crib railing (June 8)
- learns to sit back down from kneeling position
- pulls himself up to stand in tub during bath
- can get to a sitting position from tummy and back
- does stink face
- learns how to high five
- pulls himself up on crib railing and sits back down no problem

8 Months (31-34 weeks)
- weighs 22 lbs and 29 inches long
- learns how to crawl (june 22)
- plays with bottle and rolls over while drinking milk
- pulls himself up using momma as support 
- crawls toward phone or tablet
- first time to try melon, broccoli, cauliflower (june 27)
- starts to raise arms to signal that he wants to be carried
- upper tooth comes out (july 1)
- first hysterical laugh (july 3)
- speaks more consonants
- can take cloth away from face

9 Months (35-38 weeks)
- peeks at people
- stands up on his own unassisted for a few seconds
- mumbles to himself
- says yayayaya
- learns how to balance himself on his own two feet
- 4th upper teeth comes out

10 Months (39-42 weeks)
- 3rd and 4th lower teeth appears
- starts to lean in to kiss (bonks head)
- pulls up to stand all the time and stands on his own for a few seconds
- eats rice rusks on his own
- eats rice and some adult food
- starts cruising in crib
- learns how to climb stool with assistance
- puts palm up when asked to do high five

11 Months (43-46 weeks)
- learns how to walk
- first molars appeared
- learns to shake his head when asked to say "no"
- learns what "lights off" means
- learns how to do a line with his finger
- loves oatmeal with banana
- loves watching Blippi and The Wiggles
​
12 Months (47-51 weeks)
- learns how to wave bye
- always points at things
- complete set of first molars
- knows the command "smell your feet" and does it
- meets his lolo for the first time (Nov 19)
- wants to walk all the time
- very curious and is always exploring
- learns how to drink from a sippy cup
- first time eating lemon
- loves animal cookies
- loves watching The Little People
- starts showing his penchant for books
